Mobile Games Grow, Player Spending Up 25 Percent

Data taken from Sensor Tower shows that gamers spent US$22.2 billion or equivalent to Rp. 321 trillion on mobile games in the first quarter of 2021.

Increased spending of mobile game players in Q1 2021.
This figure is up by 25% from the same period last year (1 January – 31 March).
Most of this growth came from Google Play, which saw a 31% increase from Q1 2020 to US$9.2 billion.
The App Store itself followed suit and grew 21% year over year to $13 billion.
The activity of playing video games on all platforms has increased due to the pandemic, and mobile games are no exception.

Craig Chapple of Sensor Tower told GamesBeat that the global pandemic and lockdowns are clearly having a huge impact on the mobile gaming industry.
So, revenue as well as number of downloads increased substantially in 2020.
