Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Successfully Breaks 1 Million Players at the Same Time

Gamenization – Valve’s FPS game Counter Strike: Global Offensive has just broken the record for the number of active players at the same time. It was recorded that on March 14, 2020 yesterday, this game managed to break the 1 million active player mark at the same time.

This figure beats the previous record in February, where CS: GO broke the 900,000 thousand player mark. The number of around 1,001,756 players is the most for CS: GO since its release in 2012, almost 8 years this game has been on the air especially on Steam.

According to information obtained from SteamCharts, CS: GO games are currently the most widely played games on the Steam platform. CS:GO managed to beat other popular games such as Dota 2, PUBG and Rocket League.

There are many aspects that make CS: GO successful in holding this number, including the release of a new Operation called Operation: Shattered Web a few months ago. Since the operation was released, the number of CS:GO players has been increasing every month.

Not only that, the current situation in the world, which is facing the COVID-19 virus crisis, is also a factor in the increasing number of CS: GO players. People prefer to stay at home resting and playing games could be one of the factors that increase the number of players.

Until now, it is predicted that CS: GO will not experience a decline in players, at least until its competitor’s FPS game called Valorant is released next summer.
