Electronic Arts successfully acquires Glu Mobile
GridGames.ID – Electronic Arts or better known as EA, announced that it has acquired the game studio Glu Mobile.
This acquisition paved the way for the game developer, publisher and distributor to expand the mobile game business area.
Reporting from the Kompas.com page, the acquisition process with a value of USD 2.4 billion or around Rp. 33.6 trillion is expected to be completed by the end of June.
This value is one of the biggest acquisitions for a mobile game studio company.

Glu Mobile is the developer of a number of successful smartphone games in the market such as Diner Dash, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, to MLB Tap Sports Baseball.
According to EA’s Chief Executive, Andrew Wilson, this acquisition was made because EA saw the rapid growth of the mobile gaming platform.
According to Wilson, the combination of these two companies will create a market leader in lifestyle and sports.

After the acquisition process is complete, Glu Mobile will continue to work independently.
However, according to Wilson, Glu Mobile will be able to take advantage of EA’s intellectual property, including copyrights, patents, and brands.
