Bad news came from the CIS zone related to the MOBA League of Legends computer game genre. One of its famous players has completed his adventure in League of Legends. Cyril Malofeev or Likkrit League of Legends announced his retirement after Riot Games sanctioned him. Likkrit announced his retirement on his VKontakte social media page.

Likkrit’s Journey in League of Legends

Albus Nox

Likkrit has played for the pro League of Legends team at CIS since the Riot Games-backed SLTV StarSeries Season 1 tournament. During his career in League of Legends, he has played for Albus NoX Luna, Hard Random, M19, Team Empire, and Virtus.pro.

With ANoX in the 2016 League of Legends World Cup, he was able to compete all the way to the playoffs and managed to finish the tournament in eighth place. The results he has achieved are the best in the history of the pro League of Legends team from the CIS zone. In addition to these encouraging results, he has also won the LOL Continental League international tournament twice.

Likkrit and Sanctions from Riot Games

Riot Games Sanctions

Unfortunately, all of his achievements have to be stopped now because Riot Games sanctioned him on December 16, 2017. Riot Games gave him a 6 month sanction for his remarks on the broadcast on November 30, 2017.

The ban on activities in all League of Legends activities is set to start on December 18, 2017, which means Likkrit cannot participate in any League of Legends competitions until the end of its sanction period on June 18, 2018.

The no-play sanction that Riot Games has given to Likkrit, automatically makes him out of the competitive League of Legends competition. He is not allowed to appear in official League of Legends events.

Likkrit made remarks that were deemed damaging to the League of Legends, Riot Games, and LOL Continental League communities. Likkrit made a statement about RU Riot Games, LCL, and several Riot employees on his channel. The clip was originally on Twitch, but has now been deleted.

Regarding Likkrit’s remarks, Riot Games issued an official statement as follows:

“The LOL Continental League administration is aware that Likkrit has violated the LOL Continental League rules. During the broadcast he made statements that offended the League of Legends gaming community in the CIS, discredited Riot Games’ business reputation, and posed a threat to the image of League of Legends and LOL Continental League,” Riot said in a statement.

As soon as Riot Games made an official statement and then sanctioned it, Likkrit League of Legends announced its retirement. In Likkrit’s retirement announcement, apart from declaring his retirement, he advised his loyal fans not to boycott LCL (LOL Continental League) and continue playing on Russian LOL servers.

“If anyone is interested in an answer to what happened to me, then here is the answer. I left League of Legends. Now is the perfect time for adventure. Since 2013, I have been a loyal pro player for Riot Games. I love Riot Games and League of Legends where I have spent the last 4 years,” said Likkrit.

“Quit loving and appreciating Riot Games I will never do, even though my career in League of Legends is over. Don’t Boycott LCL, and don’t stop playing on Russian servers just for supporting me. It will only worsen the financial condition of the Russian region, and decrease the interest of League of Legends in the CIS,” added Likkrit.
