Wow! CS: GO Has a Critical Bug, Hackers Can Take Control of Players' PCs

GridGames.ID – Fans of Valve’s FPS game CS:GO have been begging for the game to be moved to Source 2 for years.

Despite fans’ requests, Valve hasn’t moved CS:GO to Source 2 either, even though the Dota 2 title was moved a few years ago.

Reporting from Ginx, information has now been revealed that the Source engine running CS:GO, Portal, Team Fortress and others has a critical security bug.

By this bug, hackers or hackers can take control of a gamer’s PC remotely.

The CS:GO Source Engine exploit bug could allow hackers to take over players’ PCs, then use the hacked PCs to retrieve more data.

Basically, this can be done via a Steam invite.

The technical term for the bug is “remote code execution (RCE)”, a flaw in Valve’s Source Engine code.

Investigate, this bug was even discovered two years ago by a security researcher named Florian, who reported it to Valve’s bug bounty program at HackerOne.
