Not Michigan State, Duke or North Carolina but Bronny James, son of a LeBron James joins the F . teamaze Clan Esports. And he did so without financial compensation, according to someone familiar with the terms of the partnership.

Although Broony joined FaZe Clan, he is not officially under contract with the esports team according to a representative telling TMZ Sports:

“He has no contract with the FaZe Clan.”

“He joined as our newest member. This is a very authentic relationship that develops between FaZe and Bronny skills head-on.

“As a gamer, Bronny develops a relationship with FaZe talent by playing CoD, Fortnite, NBA2K with other FaZe members. Everyone is very happy to have him as our newest member.

The 15-year-old Broony was announced as the newest member of the FaZe Clan last Sunday making him the newest high-profile ambassador for the Los Angeles-based esports organization.

It turns out that Bronny isn’t the gaming organization’s only connection to the world of basketball. He also joined the NBA players Ben Simmons, Josh Hart, Meyers Leonard, NFL player JuJu Smith-Schuster and musicians Offset and Lil Yachty who served as ambassadors.

However, the ones mentioned above, except Lil Yachty are investors too. The reason for Bronny instead seems to be an increase in his online profile.

Even though he was not paid in cash, Bronny was able to reap the benefits of an online partnership.

Known today for his pedigree and basketball skills, FaZe offered him the opportunity to expand his fan base to other areas of the esports industry.

Since that announcement Bronny has gained more than 77,000 followers on Instagram, according to Social Blade, bringing him to more than 5.5 million followers.

His views on Twitch jumped 855% the day after the announcement compared to before.

The video announcement has been viewed more than 1 million times on Twitter, where FaZe features Bronny James and Ben Simmons and other new additions to the group in the header.
