Switch production in 2021 is likely to have problems, how come?
Recently, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa publicly said that they had secured the materials for the Switch’s semiconductor. Even so, he said that Switch production in 2021 will most likely have problems.
Furthermore, Furukawa mentioned that there was a reason why this could happen? Let’s see the following article to the end.
Why is Switch Production in 2021 Troubled?
Speaking with Nikkei, Furukawa highlighted the ongoing shortage of semiconductors in the global market. Previously, supplies for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and many others experienced problems due to shortages of semiconductor materials.
We can secure the materials needed for semiconductor production. However, in Japan and other countries, demand for the Switch is on the rise and there may be production shortages in the future.
Say Furukawa
It’s hard to say how we will handle this, but in some cases may not be able to prepare enough orders.
Nintendo itself has dealt with the Switch’s supply shortage for now. Even so, the number of people who bought up this console and sold it for 2 times the price made fans feel furious.
Switch Pro Using NVIDIA’s Own Technology?
According to available information, the Nintendo Switch Pro will use technology from Nvidia that allows the console to use DLSS (Deep learning Super Sampling to increase low-resolution images to higher ones. This technology also allows the console to run 4K resolution when plugged into the dock.
However, there are some issues with this technology making its way to the Switch Pro. Furthermore, games that were released before Switch Pro will likely no longer be able to be played by users later. This is due to the high ability of Switch Pro. However, this problem can be solved if the developer wants to change some details of the game.
Interestingly, the latest Nintendo Switch Pro technology is likely to be the main problem why not many game titles are coming out in the second half of the year. If Nintendo slows down the development of a game, that means it’s very likely that the Switch Pro will be released next year.
