GhostWire: Tokyo and Deathloop Still Coming to PS5 for a Time Exclusive!

Since being acquired by Microsoft, rumors about the move of GhostWire: Tokyo and Deathloop from PS5 to Xbox have been getting stronger. However, Phil Spencer as Head of Xbox said that both games will be available as a Time Exclusive for PlayStation 5.

This rumor actually emerged since Microsoft bought ZeniMax Media as the parent company of Bethesda Softworks which is the publisher of Deathloop and GhostWire: Tokyo.

Based on his interview with Bloomberg, Phil Spencer said that they respect the collaboration between Bethesda and Sony. He also did not want to interfere with the agreement of both parties and decided that the two games would still be available on a Time Exclusive basis.

Previously, news about the move of GhostWire: Tokyo and Deathloop from PS5 to Xbox blew hard after Microsoft bought ZeniMax Media. The reason is that ZeniMax Media is the parent company of Bethesda Softworks which houses various game studios.

Take, for example, Tango Gameworks who worked on GhostWire: Tokyo and Arkane Studios which developed Deathloop. So, it’s no wonder why many people are speculating that both games will be coming exclusively to Xbox.

However, Phil has just confirmed that this will not be the case and that you can still play both games on Sony’s consoles.

Bethesda’s Next Games Are Coming to Xbox and PC Only

After the interview, Jason Schreir again revealed that Phil Spencer wants the next Bethesda games to only be available for Xbox and PC.

This means that when the sequels to GhostWire: Tokyo and Deathloop release, the PS5 won’t be getting any more of it. Of course, this was quite a surprise when Microsoft chose to acquire ZeniMax Media.

Moreover, Bethesda Softworks is a company that produces many games thanks to their studios such as Bethesda Game Studio, Id Software, Zenimax Online, Machine Games, Tango Gameworsk, Alpha Dog Games, Arkane Studios, and Rondhouse Games.

It’s interesting to see Phil’s decision to allow GhostWire: Tokyo and Deathloop to come to PS5. What do you think about this?
