According to available information, Amazon Games chose to form a new developer based in Montreal. This studio was formed after Amazon invited several former developers from Ubisoft who had worked on several games, one of which was Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.

Some of the former Ubisoft developers who joined were Romain Rimokh (Content Director), Alexandre Remy (Head Product), Luc Bouchard (Head Production), and Xavier Marquis (Creative Director). The presence of these experienced people makes Amazon believe that the new studio is capable of producing an interesting game.

Furthermore, the new studio will focus on developing multiplayer games, which is a problem for Amazon. The reason, they failed to make Crucible as one of the popular games.

Previously, Amazon pulled Crucible back to closed beta after getting a bad response by the players. They plan to develop the game with feedback from their small community. However, this plan seems to have been canceled.

Through its official website, Relentless Studio as the developer of Crucible said that they had given up on developing the game. Later, the Crucible service has stopped in November 2021.

We appreciate the support of the fans for the efforts we have put in. We are also happy to see the response from players to provide updates to Crucible. However, unfortunately we do not see a good future for the game.

Amazon’s decision clearly looks reasonable. Moreover, they have difficulty in getting players. Even so, Crucible is quite an interesting game even though it does need adaptation for players who are new to games like Crucible.
