The reason is, the British government decided to intervene in Nvidia’s acquisition of ARM.

Launching from Reuters.com, UK Digital Minister, Oliver Dowden officially issued an ‘Intervention Notice’ or notice of intervention against the ARM acquisition process by Nvidia.

The UK Government’s intervention in the ARM acquisition was based on national security.

The UK government disclosed that it would collect relevant information regarding the implications of Nvidia’s acquisition of ARM for potential national security breaches.

Furthermore, later the British government will also prepare a report on the implications of Nvidia’s acquisition of ARM which will help the authorities to make the best decision.
