PlayStation Teams Up With Discord, Brings Voice Chat Feature to PSN

GridGames.ID – An unexpected announcement recently came from PlayStation.

They announced that they had collaborated and would bring the Discord voice-chat feature to the PlayStation Network (PSN) service.

Reporting from Kompas.com, this collaboration will be realized in 2022.

Jim Ryan, President & CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) said that the purpose of this collaboration is to facilitate communication between PlayStation users and Discord users on various platforms.

So, players can communicate while playing games that support the cross-play feature either via PlayStation, PC or Mobile games.

Prior to partnering with Sony, Discord had been a Microsoft partner for a long time.

With Discord, Xbox console users can see what games their friends are playing.
