Niantic announces new AR mobile game titled Transformers: Heavy Metal

GridGames.ID – Niantic, Hasbro and TOMY Company have finally announced their partnership.

From this collaboration, they announced the release of a new mobile game entitled Transformers: Heavy Metal.

The cool thing is, the game will carry Augmented Reality (AR) technology and bring Optimus Prime and Bumblebee characters back to the real world through Niantic Lightship technology.

Lightship is Niantic’s planet-scale AR platform that sets the standard for Augmented Reality.

With this technology, players will experience real-time 3D mapping and a multiplayer social experience that is different from other AR games.

With Niantic Lightship ARDK technology as well, developers can build worlds and AR using tools that support shared location, environmental context, and multiplayer viewing.
