Hurricane With Tencent, Amazon Cancels Lord of The Rings Game Release!

GridGames.ID – The shocking news comes from the competition in the global gaming industry.

Amazon Game Studios announced that they are canceling the release of the MMO RPG Online, Lord of The Rings.

Bloomberg reported that Amazon’s decision to cancel the release of the Lord of The Rings game was due to Amazon’s dispute with Tencent.

Initially, Amazon announced the development of the Lord of The Rings game in 2019.

Amazon teamed up with game studio Leyou Tech. to develop Lord of The Rings games as free games on consoles and PC.

Unfortunately, the development of the Lord of The Rings game had to end because Leyou was acquired by Tencent in mid-December last year.

The acquisition contract agreement between Tencent and Leyou led to Amazon and Tencent which resulted in the cancellation of the Lord of The Rings game.

An Amazon spokesperson revealed that it was unable to secure terms for continuing Lord of The Rings games following Tencent’s acquisition of Leyou.
