Esports Ready to Be an Exhibition Sport at PON, PBESI Discusses the Sports Side

GridGames.ID – After being postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2021 PON in Papua is planned to be held in October 2021.

Since 2020, electronic sports (esports) are expected to be included as one of the sports (sports) that will be competed.

However, as part of the online gaming industry, many ordinary people still don’t understand the sporting side of esports.

Some of them see that playing games is just entertainment to fill their spare time.

One of the former Point Blank pro players who was once a world champion, Benny Moza, revealed that being a pro player requires a big time sacrifice.

He mentions himself to need 12 hours a day to train in order to reach the world level.

“When you want to be a pro-player, you have to sacrifice one side of life. Because it sacrifices time and we learn in there. So it’s not just playing capital, we’re always good at it, then we win. It is the struggle before the winner that is important,” he said in the webinar of the Indonesian Esports Executive Board (PBESI) yesterday (10/3).
