Asus is rumored to be releasing the second generation of ROG Phone in mid-2019

GridGames.ID – Asus is rumored to be releasing the latest second-generation ROG Phone in the third quarter of 2019.

Rumors of this second generation ROG Phone may be coming as soon as mid-year in July, August, or September 2019.

Information from inside sources also stated that Asus will also collaborate with Chinese internet giant, Tencent, to market its gaming cellphone in the Bamboo Curtain country.

If the cooperation is truly realized, it is hoped that it will save the Asus smartphone business, even though the profits from the gaming cellphone business are not too significant.

Reporting from KompasTekno, in December 2018, Asus had indeed announced its new plan with a focus on the premium and gaming segments, after the cellphone business continued to decline for the last three years.

Although reportedly will focus on selling the ROG Phone in China, it does not rule out the possibility that the cellphone will also be sold globally, including in Indonesia.

The first generation Asus ROG Phone was sold in Indonesia in November 2018. The price of the Asus ROG Phone in the country is priced at 12 million rupiah for the 128 GB storage variant.

As for the 512 GB storage capacity, the Asus ROG Phone is sold at a price of 14.9 million rupiah in Indonesia.

This price includes a cooling pad accessory bundling, Game Vice controller, and an exclusive ROG phone case.

However, until now Asus has not opened a sales session for the ROG Phone, because the Taiwanese mobile phone manufacturer is still having trouble meeting the requirements for the domestic content level (TKDN).
