Sony Corporation Donates 100 Million USD To Fight Corona Virus
Gamenization Covid-19, also known as the Corona virus, has spread all over the world. This caused most of the economic sectors to decline, even the gaming industry was also affected by this virus, causing several meetings, exhibitions, and game competitions to be canceled, for example, E3, GDC, and other events.
However, not a few game developers and publishers have joined the fight against this pandemic in various ways, starting from making their games free, making and distributing masks to people in need, or even donating money in the form of money, for example from Riot Games which has donated 1, 5 million USD, CDPR also contributed 950,000 USD, all of which was done to help fight Covid-19 so that activities are expected to return to normal, especially in the gaming industry.
Not to forget, Sony Corporation, which is a large gaming company, the maker of PlayStation, contributed funds in the form of money with a very large nominal of 100 million USD. The funds were donated to global aid funds, 10 million of which went to health organizations and other financial assistance such as MSF (Medecins Sans Frontieres), then to UNICEF, then to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
Sony Corporation through its CEO Kenichiro Yoshida gave a statement that he was helping the Creative Community such as music, images, games, and animation, and he also closed the statement by providing support to people who were affected by the virus.
