Soren Bjergsen, LoL Superstar ex Bullying Victim

Bjergsen or whose full name is Soren Bjerg is a superstar in League of Legends, almost none of the League of Legends esports players who don’t know him. But behind this success story, Bjergsen turns out to have a fairly dark past, Bjergsen was a victim of bullying in his childhood.

Soren Bjergsen was born in a simple family on February 23, 1996 in Denmark. At that time he had quite good achievements, but because of his fairly thin body he became a victim of bullying among his bigger friends when he was in 4th grade. Bjergsen became depressed due to this bullying, moreover the school did not want to interfere in the problems he faced.

As an escape, Soren Bjergsen plays games after school. But he did it secretly, because he was afraid of getting bullied because at that time playing too many games was considered something strange, even being labeled a nerd.

Soren Bjergsen’s mouth was badly injured when his friends tried to put a spoon in his mouth.

This incident finally traumatized Soren Bjergsen and decided to drop out of school, he continued to lock himself up at home because of the depression he was experiencing. During this time of depression he only wanted to talk to his own family and shut himself off from the outside world.

His love of games eventually led him to meet League of Legends, and he quickly mastered it. It was through this League of Legends game that he finally found a reason to continue living his day and keep fighting for his life.

Soren Bjergsen played various online tournaments, and he started to earn money from those tournaments. It was these victories that made him the target of various big Swedish teams, until finally he joined Copenhagen Wolves, one of the big esports teams from Sweden. The manager of Copenhagen Wolves at that time managed to convince Soren Bjergsen, so that he could let go of all his anxiety and depression to compete in the LAN DreamHack Winter 2012 event.

In this first match he managed to show an extraordinary performance and reached third place. This ranking automatically makes his team entitled to enter into the LoL Championship Series qualification. But unfortunately, his very young age, 16 years, made him unable to appear with his team in the event.

His brilliant achievements in League of Legends did not necessarily erase the trauma of bullying from him. He sometimes still feels anxious when someone tries to hug him, even though he refuses to conduct interviews and communicate with other League of Legends players, because he is afraid that he will be bullied when he makes a mistake. He also still carries out his habit of wearing long sleeves so that his thin body is not visible.

The support from the fans finally made him excited to be even better. Not only that, the organizers as well as LCS participants such as Riot and ESL supported him so he could recover from the anxiety and depression he experienced.
