Accused of Sabotage, Bethesda Sued 1.4 Trillion Rupiah!
Maybe most of you are still quite unfamiliar with the name Ragnarok Game. Yes, this publisher is not as popular as other game publishers. Even so, Ragnarok Game seems to have been widely known by gamers, especially those who like RPG genre games.
For those of you who don’t know, Ragnarok Game is the publisher of Rune 2, which is selling well not because of its quality, but because of the controversy that it reaps. This started when the developer, Human Head Studios, stopped the development of Rune 2, and did not hand over the source code to Ragnarok.
Ragnarok Game with controversial!
Indirectly, this makes Ragnarok Game inevitably have to take decisive steps so that the game does not just die. They also filed a lawsuit against the Human Head since last December 2021. The more interesting, now the claim even carries the name Bethesda.
It’s not wrong, the demands that have started since 2021 finally brought the names of Bethesda and Zenimax Media. Which, as we know, Zenimax and Bethesda itself is now officially owned by Microsoft. They managed to buy Zenimax Media for USD 7.5 billion.
Bethesda demanded 1.4 trillion rupiah!
But unfortunately, now Bethesda is even trapped by a lawsuit that carries their name. Ragnarok Game became Bethesda as a legal target and a request for compensation of up to USD 100 million or around 1.4 trillion. The reason is, when Human Head Studios left Rune 2 and threatened to close.
Which, they immediately acquired Bethesda and got a new name as Roundhouse Studios. Ragnarok speculated that this acquisition was part of an act of sabotage. Bethesda is believed to have played the Rune 2 build a few weeks before its release, they saw a threat to Skyrim / Elder Scrolls.
This also made them buy Human Head Studios without Ragnarok knowing. Bethesda and Zenimax have not yet responded to this issue. Will Ragnarok Game be able to win this lawsuit? Interesting for us to wait.
