Beware, Pirated Games PES 2018 & GTA V Contain Dangerous Malware

GridGames.ID – Downloading and installing pirated games from ‘bogus’ websites carries many risks, including the threat of dangerous malware.

Some time ago, antivirus company Avast discovered cases of pirated games PES 2018 and GTA V containing dangerous malware called Crackonosh.

Not only that, other popular pirated games such as NBA 2K19, Fra Cry 5, The Sims, The Sims 4 Season, Euro Truck Emulator 2, Jurassic World Evolution, Fallout 4, GOTY, and We Happy Vew also contain Crackonosh malware.

Avast revealed that the Crackonosh malware infection had occurred since June 2018.

Launching from Techno Compass, Hackers who infiltrated the Crackonosh malware have managed to mine 900 XMR or the equivalent of 2 million US Dollars (Rp. 28.9 billion).

Since last December 2020, this malicious malware has reportedly infected about 220,000 computers worldwide.

Some of the countries that had the highest impact from Crackonosh malware were Brazil, India, Poland, Philippines, US and UK.
